1. the weight of a pure substance which is contained in, would react with, or would be equivalent to, a unit volume of a reagent solution, usually expressed in milligrams of solute per milliliter of solution.

2. the amount of a standard solution necessary to produce a certain result in titration. Also, especially British, titre.
